Syracuse University

July 2016

To Syracuse University Students and Parents:
A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., (“Dewar”) will offer a tuition refund plan (T.R.P.) to Syracuse University students again this year. As set forth in Dewar’s T.R.P., this elective insurance plan provides coverage for Tuition, Room, Meal Plan, and Mandatory Fees should a student suffer a serious illness or accident and have to leave the University before a semester is completed.

The T.R.P. supplements the University’s published Refund Policy. As set forth in the Dewar’s T.R.P., you may receive up to an 80% refund throughout the entire semester even though the University’s own Refund Policy may have expired at the time you withdraw from the University. T.R.P. benefits are coordinated with and reduced by the University’s Refund Policy.

Participation in the Tuition Refund Plan offered by Dewar is optional. The University’s Refund Policy will be applicable whether or not you enroll in the T.R.P. Please be sure to read carefully the coverage section.

Syracuse University does not endorse this or any other tuition insurance program. The University also has no responsibility or liability for Dewar’s T.R.P. and the benefits payable pursuant to it. Dewar is solely responsible for all responsibility and liability for its T.R.P. and the benefits payable. We write solely to inform you of the opportunity to consider the suitability of the Dewar’s T.R.P. for you.

Should you decide to participate in the Dewar’s T.R.P. online, you would need to submit your application by August 29, 2016. Online applications cannot be accepted after that date.

If you have any questions regarding the Dewar’s Tuition Refund Plan, please contact A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. at 617-774-1555.
