Dear Student and Family: |
What happens to your college investment if your student is forced to leave school due to an accident or illness before the semester is completed? When a student leaves college during the semester, the college’s costs do not go down. That is why colleges generally offer refunds only during the first few weeks of school.
What can you do to protect your financial investment in your student’s college education? The Tuition Refund Plan, administered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., can assure that you get 100% of your tuition, room and board charges back in the event that the student is forced to withdraw from school because of medical/physical illness or accident. Here are the numbers:
|
| Coverage Schedule | | If the Student Withdraws: | College Refunds: | The TRP Refunds: | Student Receives: | | Prior to the First day of Class | 100% | 0% | 100% | | During the First Two Weeks | 80% | 20% | 100% | | During the Third Week | 60% | 40% | 100% | | During the Fourth Week | 40% | 60% | 100% | | During the Fifth Week | 20% | 80% | 100% | | After the Fifth Week | 0% | 100% | 100% |
|
In addition to the 100% accident and illness coverage, medical/psychological withdrawals are covered up to 60% of costs insured. Please refer to the coverage section for complete details. Those who wish to participate for the fall term online must submit their application before the opening date of classes. The premium for the spring term will be billed by the college on the second semester statement.
Insurance is designed to protect what you can’t afford to lose. We urge careful consideration of the Tuition Refund Plan. The program's benefits have provided a welcome resource to many families. Please contact A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., directly at (617) 774-1555 with questions.
Sincerely,
Douglas W. Lyon Treasurer |
