| To Our Students and Families, |
Georgetown College, together with A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., is pleased to announce a program designed to help students recover tuition expenses in the event of medical and psychological hardship. With the costs of higher education on the rise, students who are forced to withdraw from classes before completing the semester not only experience loss of academic credit for their courses but also significant financial loss of tuition dollars. The Tuition Refund Plan (referred to as TRP) will help combat these risks for future semesters at Georgetown College.
The Tuition Refund Plan is an optional tuition insurance policy that is extended to all students and their families through A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. It serves to extend and enhance the refund policy currently in place at the College. Students living off campus will be able to buy insurance for tuition only. Students living on campus can buy insurance that covers tuition, room and board. Without the TRP, students are responsible for the entire rate of tuition and fees after the 6th week of class. However, if a student elects to employ the TRP, 75% of lost tuition, room, and board dollars resulting from a qualifying medical withdrawal can be recovered. The following table illustrates the cost recovery procedure: |
| Coverage Schedule | | Withdrawal Date During | College Refunds | TRP Refunds | Student Receives | | 1st Week | 100% | 0% | 100% | | 2nd Week | 80% | 0% | 80% | | 3rd/4th Week | 60% | 15% | 75% | | 5th/6th Week | 40% | 35% | 75% | | After 6th Week | 0% | 75% | 75% |
