Dear Trinity Parents and Students,
|
We are concerned for the student who suffers a serious illness or accident and has to leave Trinity College before the semester is completed. In many instances, it means not only the loss of time invested in studies but, due to the current level of educational costs, a significant financial loss.
Trinity College is pleased to offer the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) for your consideration. This plan, administered by A.W.G. Dewar of Quincy, Massachusetts, protects your educational investment by reimbursing 100% of tuition, room and board in the event of a medical withdrawal. In the case of a withdrawal due to mental/nervous disorder, 60% of these charges are covered. Refunds may be affected by financial aid award adjustments. This plan significantly extends and enhances the College's published refund policy. You are assured of a refund throughout the term even after the College's own refund policy has expired. The chart below illustrates how the TRP complements our own refund schedule for tuition charges in the case of a withdrawal due to a physical illness or accident.

The cost of the plan for the academic year is $308.00 for resident students and $245.00 for students living off campus. Students planning to attend a foreign or domestic leave program should contact Dewar for applicable costs. The coverage section describes the plan in detail. Please read it carefully. If you wish to subscribe to the plan online, please complete the application and submit it with your payment. In order to be accepted, your application and payment must be submitted before September 8, 2009, the first day of classes.
Questions regarding the plan should be directed to A.W.G. Dewar at (617) 774-1555.
Sincerely,
