The Catholic University of America - Graduate and Law Students

June 2021

The Catholic University of America is pleased to offer the Tuition Refund Plan (TRP) through A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. as a way of protecting the substantial financial commitment students and their families make to pay for an education at Catholic University. The past few months have taught us all how unexpected health situations can arise, enrolling in tuition insurance protects your financial investment should your student have to withdraw from the University.

Each and every year, a significant number of students experience an unexpected medical situation that results in their withdrawal from the University. Policy only allows for a partial refund of tuition, room and board within the first few weeks of the semester. After the end of the fourth week, students are not entitled to any refund, which can, in our experience working with students and families, present an obstacle for continued enrollment. We recommend you strongly consider participating in TRP to protect your investment.

TRP is a private insurance program that supplements the refund policy at The Catholic University of America. Subscribers are assured a refund throughout the term, even though the University’s own refund policy may have expired. A 75 percent TRP refund applies to medical withdrawals and withdrawals due to mental health reasons. Costs covered by the TRP program include tuition, room, board and mandatory fees. (Miscellaneous fees, including health insurance and course fees, are not covered.)
