Lehigh University

June 2021

Dear Parents:
This fall, Lehigh University is pleased to endorse the Tuition Refund Plan (T.R.P.). This Plan, offered and administered by A.W.G. Dewar of Quincy, Massachusetts, helps protect your educational investment. When combined with the University's published refund policy, reimbursement totaling 75% of the tuition and room and board charges billed by the University will be made if your son/daughter is forced to withdraw due to a personal illness or accident.

The Plan significantly extends and enhances the University's published refund policy. You are assured of a refund throughout the term even after the University's own refund policy has expired. This is especially beneficial when the student is forced to withdraw and then return for a later term. The chart below illustrates how the T.R.P. complements the University's schedule for tuition charges in the case of a personal illness or accident.

Please note that this schedule applies to the refund of tuition only. It is intended as an example only as actual days may vary from semester to semester. Also, in the case of medical withdrawals, Lehigh provides a percentage refund throughout the entire semester and the Tuition Refund Plan will be coordinated appropriately. Room and board charges are refunded according to policies described in the University Catalog.

The cost of this optional insurance for the academic year is $759.00 for tuition, room and board costs or $598.00 for students who wish to insure tuition only. The coverage section describes the Plan in detail. Please read it carefully. If you wish to enroll in the Plan online, please submit your application and payment by August 23, 2021. Applications will not be accepted after the first day of classes.

At other institutions, the Plan has proven to be an effective means of protecting parents' investment in their children's education. Lehigh is pleased to present it for your consideration. Inquiries regarding the Plan should be made directly to A.W.G. Dewar at (617) 774-1555.
